Bill Seeks to Subsidize Health Claim Backed Dietary Supplements. Two Congressmen from either side of the mainstream political spectrum have introduced a Bill into Congress calling for Dietary Supplements such as Selenium and Omega-3s that are backed by Official Health Claims to receive tax breaks. The Tax Equity for Meal Replacements and Supplements Act of 2009, introduced by House Representatives members, Earl Blumenauer, an Oregon Democrat, and Ginny Brown-Waite, a Republican out of Florida, seeks to exempt the purchase of certain supplements from gross personal incomes. “Nutritional Supplements can significantly improve Health, and by making Vitamins and Supplements more affordable, we can help people stay healthy while reducing medical costs,” said Blumenauer. New York based food Attorney Marc Ullman, said “It is important to keep this issue before the public. If I can get favorable tax treatment for my expenses on Boniva or Lipitor, how does it make sense that I can’t get the same treatment for Calcium Supplements (which reduce the risk of osteoporosis and potentially could save the health care system hundreds of millions of dollars) or Plant Sterols (which reduce the risk of heart disease and cholesterol levels) which can be purchased at a fraction of the cost of prescription drugs.” Several of the few Health Claims for Supplements that have been approved by the FDA have been submitted or backed by Dr. Joel Wallach and Youngevity including the Selenium and Omega 3 Health Claims for which Dr. Wallach and Youngevity were the lead petitioners. Online Marketing Ideas There are numerous ways to market your business online with a lot of them being free. In this article I have detailed five of the newer marketing methods that have the potential to do a lot for your business! Here are five marketing methods you may wish to try - Video Marketing – Video marketing is a powerful and versatile tool for your online business. You can introduce yourself, detail what you offer on your site, demonstrate your products/services, offer free instructional videos, etc. Use your imagination and propel your business forward! Online Radio - Radio has always been a powerful medium and it continues to be on the internet. Make yourself available to do online radio interviews. This is very cost effective and can get you and your business established all over the world. RSS Feeds – RSS meaning Really Simple Syndication is an easy way for you to distribute your articles, blogs, and other content all over the net. You need to set up your feed and then maybe start with a weekly article until you get more used to it. You need to promote your feed so people subscribe to it and you can also make your feed available to other websites for more exposure. One good tool for getting started is the RSS Channel Editor. Social Networking – This marketing method has hit the internet like a tornado! There are numerous social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, diigo, delicious, LinkedIn and many others. These sites allow you to open an account, add your info and network with thousands of other people. They can really bring attention to your website/business. Blogs – Although blogs have been around for awhile, they are one of the newer online marketing techniques. Blogging is becoming a very popular method of publishing as it does not require any technical knowledge and it can greatly increase the popularity of your site. Some blogs allow the visitors to post and enter their thoughts and opinions as well. A blog keeps people coming back to your site and a blog is also very helpful with the search engines because of the ever changing content. Search engines love new content!
